An Ounce of Cure by Alan Edward Nourse

The title is a play on “An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure”. While the satirical nature of the story is obvious the Sci-Fi aspect may elude you. This story was published in 1963 and very accurately predicted the rise of the cults of specialization and testing that dominate medicine today. The exaggerations in the story are our reality.
